Veron machete raider gets life in prison

A MACHETE-WIELDING man who terrorised Argentine footballer Juan Sebastian Veron and his family during a break-in has been jailed for life.

Wayne Harley, who police said was a professional criminal, was sentenced yesterday at London’s Kingston Crown Court. Judge Charles Tilling said the 36-year-old represented a risk of causing serious harm to the public.

The court heard that Harley broke into Veron’s home in London, early on a Sunday in January this year.
