FAI to meet RTÉ to strike radio deal

FAI officers will meet with RTÉ executives this week to negotiate a new contract for radio rights to Ireland’s international games.

RTÉ will also be able to negotiate the purchase of the rights to show a highlights package on television after home internationals and coverage, on television and radio, of the domestic football competitions.

An FAI official yesterday said "RTÉ have been making a lot of noise recently about being interested in the Irish football scene. This is their chance to back up their words with action."
