Di Canio secures new Charlton deal

Striker Paolo di Canio has signed a new one-year contract with Charlton despite reported interest from the Premiership and abroad.

Di Canio 36 next month was an instant hit with supporters last season, during which he made 31 Premiership and two cup outings, and scored five goals.

However, his role as a creator was as important and his 12 goal assists was the second-highest figure in the Premiership.
