Monaco hunt Anelka

MONACO coach Didier Deschamps has sounded out Manchester City frontman Nicolas Anelka about a move to the French league club.

The Champions League finalists are looking to strengthen their attack with an on-loan player but City are reluctant to let the French marksman leave - even on a temporary deal.

Deschamps knows Anelka well from their days together in the French team: “Nicolas is a great player so of course I am interested in him and on top of that he is French. I know him very well and I know how he works.”
