Danish drubbing not behind changes: Sven

SVEN-GORAN ERIKSSON insists he has not been panicked into a gamble on his tactics and team selection for the World Cup qualifier against Wales by England’s embarrassing defeat in Denmark.

Eriksson is poised to change to a 4-5-1 formation in Cardiff with Wayne Rooney on his own up front, with Joe Cole and Shaun Wright-Phillips attacking from the flanks.

Even though Michael Owen is suspended, Jermain Defoe is set to miss out, with David Beckham drafted into central midfield behind Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard.
