Facundo banned following dope test

San Lorenzo’s young midfielder Arturo Facundo Vanega has been given a six-month ban after failing a dope test last June.

It was on June 25 in the 3-1 victory over Lanus for the penultimate round of the Clausura tournament, when the 20-year-old player made his professional debut.

He played only 12 minutes of the game, coming on as a substitute to replace Walter Acevedo. The results of a test taken after that game found traces of marijuana. As a result, Vanega has been banned until January 6, meaning he will miss the entire Apertura league.
