Mourinho appeals for truce with UEFA

CHELSEA manager Jose Mourinho has appealed to UEFA to let him begin the season with a clean slate.

Mourinho was handed a two-match European ban last season for his comments about Swedish referee Anders Frisk and Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard.

After that relations between UEFA and Chelsea became seriously strained.

But Mourinho has now signalled his intent to draw a line under the bad feelings.

He said: “I have to forget what they did to me with the ban and we have to start with a clean sheet.

“I can’t separate my career as a manager from UEFA.

“I did a lot of important things in my career connected with them, I won the UEFA Cup and the Champions League."
