Hearts were looking to play at Murrayfield to cut mounting debts and that was agreed in principal by the top clubs in the Scottish flight.

Dundee United and Dundee’s hopes of playing next season at Tannadice were also given the go-ahead. But although Clyde and Inverness were declined more time to meet the SPL’s stadium criteria, Clyde were allowed to play their games at Kilmarnock’s Rugby Park if promoted.
