Carr escapes punishment after ball boy incident
The Spurs captain was incensed when the youngster delayed giving him the ball seconds before referee Graham Poll whistled for full-time at Ewood Park.
The ball-boy then allegedly taunted him with a hand gesture and Carr had to be pulled away from the youngster by teammate Dean Richards as he tried to confront him.
Richards then came to Carr’s defence and accused the ball-boy of consistently failing to do his job properly by favouring the home side during the second half.
He said: “I was going to say something earlier on because when the ball went out for a throw to us he was just ambling along and dropping the ball so Steve had to go and pick it up.
“He was doing that every time instead of being fair and just throwing the ball back, like he did for their lads.
“He is there to do that for both sides. I don’t want to dwell on it too much but I think Steve had a case.”
Carr admitted: “It was just silliness really. I just wanted the ball back quickly.”
The Republic of Ireland international will escape any punishment from the FA after Poll confirmed the incident will not be included in his report.
