Sullivan has no plans to sell Blues

BIRMINGHAM co-owner David Sullivan has insisted he has no immediate plans to sell the club.

Sullivan has previously stated he would consider investing in another club - possibly his home-town club Cardiff - but he says he would only leave the Blues in a strong position.

Birmingham are battling to retain their place in the Barclays Premiership and Sullivan claims neither he nor fellow owner David Gold would leave in such a situation.

Sullivan told the club’s official website www.blues.co.uk: “I can categorically state that neither myself, nor David and Ralph Gold, have spoken to anybody with regard to the sale of the club.

“I have always said that one day I might find a London team or invest in my home-town Cardiff City. But it is not in my nature, nor the Golds, to leave at a troubled time.

“If we were where Blackburn Rovers are in the league, for example, then it would be more likely, but even then not definite. We want to achieve something here and are working hard towards that aim.”

Birmingham have recorded a pre-tax profit of £1.6 million (€2.35m) for the financial year ended August 31, 2005. The club’s financial results, which were published yesterday, also showed a turnover of £42.7m (€62.8m).
