Blades boss Warnock picks up manager gong

SHEFFIELD UNITED boss Neil Warnock has been named Coca-Cola Championship manager of the month for September.

Warnock steered his side to five successive victories to lead the table by three points from Reading, who beat the Blades 2-1 last weekend.

He said: “It’s been tainted a little with the defeat against Reading last week but it’s still good to get it. Credit must go to the whole club, and I’m including the fans in that, because we’ve had some fantastic backing in the past few weeks.”
