Rooney’s home is vandalised

VANDALS have attacked the home of Everton and England striker Wayne Rooney.

The semi-detached house in Croxteth, Liverpool which 17-year -old Rooney shares with his parents and younger brothers, was targeted by paint-filled pellets, which hit the wall and the family car on the driveway.

It is not the first time the Rooneys have been the victims of vandalism, having recently had the tyres of their Ford Galaxy punctured with nails.

Rooney’s father, Wayne senior, said in the Liverpool Echo: “We don’t know if people are doing it because they are jealous but we are not going to report it to the police.

“We’ve had tyres slashed on cars before, but what can you do?

“The kids were in the bedroom where the window was hit and they thought it was stones being thrown. I don’t know why it happened, but there’s nothing we can do.”

Rooney, England’s youngest ever international, was brought up in the house, but the family are now considering moving to a larger property.
