Shels set for a financial windfall

SHELBOURNE look set for a financial windfall with 18,000 tickets already sold for Wednesday night’s Champions League third qualifying round, first-leg tie against Deportivo La Coruna at Lansdowne Road.

Capacity for the ground is 26,000 and the remaining 8,000 tickets are expected to be snapped up today when they go on sale at Tolka Park from 9.00am. “There has been a tremendous response from the soccer public,” said Shels secretary Ollie Byrne.

“The whole country seems to be getting behind us.

Striker Glen Fitzpatrick has recovered from a minor knee and Shels hope to name an unchanged side to that which beat Hadjuk Split 2-0.
