Burnley sign O'Connor on loan

BURNLEY have signed West Brom midfielder James O'Connor on a month's loan.

The 25-year-old Irishman, who will go straight into the Clarets squad for this weekend's trip to QPR, has been limited to just one substitute appearance this season after an influx of new signings at The Hawthorns.

Clarets boss Steve Cotterill said: "He brings a lot of energy to the team and is a great player.

"He will give 100% every time and there won't be a player who out-runs him all season. I would sign him permanently tomorrow if I could."
