Statoil Junior Cup largest in Europe

THE Statoil FAI Junior Cup 2003/2004 season was officially launched last night with the first round of matches scheduled to kick off around the country this weekend.

The official Secretary's Directory was also unveiled at the launch and will be issued to each club participating in the competition.

Some 656 teams have entered, maintaining its position as the largest cup competition of its kind in Europe.

Last season's final saw Fairview Rangers take home the Statoil FAI Junior Cup for the third consecutive year, beating Carrick United in a thrilling match played in front of a capacity crowd at the Regional Sports Centre, Waterford.
