Limerick wait on lease news

LIMERICK FC cannot draw down a six figure Capitol Sports grant because of delays in securing a long term lease on their Hogan Park ground.

The Blues have an agreement to play at Hogan Park for the next four years but require at least a 23 year lease if they are to avail of the €400,000 grant.

Limerick returned to the Rathbane venue in March following negotiations with Hogan Park Trustees Marty Hogan and Father Joe Young.

Commentating on the situation Father Joe said: “I have spoken to the solicitors concerned with the issue last week and I’m expecting a reply very shortly. As a former Limerick FC Chairman I want to see the club back to where they were and I would like to see them get a 100 year lease at the ground.”
