Lennon international comeback ruled out

CELTIC midfielder Neil Lennon has ruled out a return to the international scene with Northern Ireland.

Lennon international comeback ruled out

The Hoops star quit playing in 2002 following a death threat ahead of a friendly at Windsor Park. He revealed last month that he would consider a return to the national side and boss Lawrie Sanchez told the player the first move was up to him.

Lennon believes his club career has benefited from the break from international football and family concerns mean he is unlikely to make a comeback. He told the Celtic View: "I think my family are reluctant for me to go back. I don't think it will happen as I wouldn't want to have to put my family through all that again because none of us need that kind of hassle.
