Phillips not for sale on cheap

MIDDLESBROUGH are likely to be knocked back by rivals Sunderland if they try to sign striker Kevin Phillips on the cheap.

Boro have been monitoring the 30-year-old England international’s situation ever since it became clear that his departure from the Stadium of Light was almost inevitable.
