Fresh injury woes for unlucky Ljungberg

ARSENAL could be without Freddie Ljungberg for the best part of two weeks after the Swede suffered a recurrence of a calf injury.

Ljungberg, 28, had just returned to the side after missing the recent defeat at Blackburn with a similar problem.

He picked up the latest strain just 15 minutes into Sunday’s win against Liverpool.

There was, however, some positive news for Arsene Wenger on the injury front yesterday as Sol Campbell and Robin van Persie played in a behind- closed-doors friendly against Brighton.

With Ljungberg out, there will be further responsibility put on Cesc Fabregas. New Madrid president Fernando Martin rates the youngster highly, but Fabregas’ agent insists there has been no contact over the possibility of a big-money transfer to the Bernabeu.
