Dowie ‘flattered’ by City link but Palace job the real deal

IAIN DOWIE yesterday admitted it was “flattering” to be linked with the Manchester City job, but maintained his focus was on keeping Crystal Palace in the Barclays Premiership.

Dowie has performed wonders during his 15-month tenure at Selhurst Park.

The 40-year-old former Northern Ireland international has managed to guide Palace through into the closing stages of the campaign with a real chance of beating the drop, as the Eagles are currently two points clear of the relegation zone and have nine matches left.
