Roeder denies Owen comeback

NEWCASTLE striker Michael Owen is unlikely to make his comeback from a foot fracture in the FA Cup quarter-final clash with Chelsea next month.

The 26-year-old England forward is progressing well after returning to training following surgery to repair the metatarsal he damaged at Tottenham on New Year’s Eve.

However, caretaker boss Glenn Roeder has described as laughable suggestions that Owen could return in a fortnight.
