Pennant admits drink driving

ARSENAL midfielder Jermaine Pennant pleaded guilty yesterday to drink driving and driving while disqualified.

Pennant, 22, who also admitted driving while uninsured, was arrested in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, at around 6am on January 23 after his blue Mercedes Benz SL500 was spotted in a car park dragging a lamp post beneath it.

Pennant was banned from driving for 16 months last February after being seen travelling in the wrong lane in Paddington, west London. The court heard his alcohol reading had been 85mg per 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.
