Curbishley aiming for headier heights

CHARLTON manager Alan Curbishley yesterday celebrated being named Premiership manager of the month by insisting his side have stepped up a level compared to the team which won 4-2 at Arsenal last year.

The Addicks visit Highbury tomorrow to face the Premiership leaders after a superb start to the year, remaining unbeaten in the league and winning their last five matches.

Such a run has taken Charlton to sixth in the table, a position which has earned Curbishley the managerial award. But he said: “We have to be confident because of what we have achieved in recent months. It’s not just this month, the run has been stretching back three months.
