Finucane agrees to stay with Limerick

LIMERICK FC have beaten off the challenge of at least two other clubs for the signature of central defender Paul Finucane.

Finucane, out of contract with the Shannonsiders, has agreed a new three-year deal with manager Noel O’Connor.

“Paul served with me when I managed the club a few years ago,” said O’Connor. “He is an outstanding player and I am delighted he has resisted overtures from elsewhere and decided to remain with us.”

Finucane is a nephew of former Ireland international Al Finucane. Talks are also ongoing with another defender Conor Molan.
