Pearce recalls Barton for Baggies clash

JOEY BARTON has been told to knuckle down by Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce after returning to the club following a three-day course of lifestyle coaching.

The 22-year-old year-old midfielder agreed to undergo rehabilitation - which is on-going - after an incident in the team hotel in Thailand.

Barton clashed with a young Everton fan and then team-mate Richard Dunne when he intervened. Pearce has been pleased with the way Barton has responded and named him in the squad to face West Brom tomorrow.
