Lorimer on new-look Leeds board
The investors, led by Leeds-based accountant Gerald Krasner, placed an eight-figure offer for the Barclaycard Premiership’s bottom club at the end of January and insist the deal is still moving forward.
Scot Lorimer, who played for United for 17 years in two spells and remains the club’s all-time leading goalscorer, has settled in the area since finishing his career. The consortium hope he will provide a link between the corridors of power and supporters.
“I had a meeting with the consortium and we went over the plans for the club,” Lorimer said in a joint statement. “And I was impressed with what I saw. On the back of that I’ve agreed to become a member of the board, should the consortium be successful in acquiring the club.
