Morris returns to haunt Millwall
Morris endured a tortuous eight months at Elland Road last season following his free transfer move from Chelsea during the summer of 2003, failing to make an impression at the club. He was subsequently released but handed a new chance by Dennis Wise at Millwall.
Morris earned Millwall a share of the points with a penalty equaliser five minutes from time.
Leeds were effectively undone by long-throw specialist Adrian Serioux. He delivered one of his long bombs and it caused panic in the Leeds defence, resulting in John Oster bringing down Paul Ifill to give away the spot-kick. Up stepped Morris to send Neil Sullivan the wrong way.
Oster had given Leeds the lead just two minutes before the break.
Oster had been cautioned by police on Thursday after being arrested on suspicion of assault in the early hours of that morning following an incident outside a Durham nightclub.
The midfielder, currently in his second month on loan from Championship rivals Sunderland, was given a dressing down by Blackwell and is believed to have been fined two weeks’ wages to boot.
But he repaid Blackwell’s faith in keeping him on board by sweeping home the opener with his first Leeds goal.
