Bookies slash odds on McClaren to succeed Sven

MIDDLESBROUGH boss Steve McClaren has declined to comment on speculation that he could be the new frontrunner to be the new England boss.

Bookmakers slashed the odds on McClaren to land the top job after a flurry of big-money wagers yesterday morning.

“It’s pure speculation, and you know me and speculation - we never comment on each other,” he said. “The record is there for everybody to see, what I’ve done throughout my career and here at Middlesbrough.”
