Kildare appoint Ryan

KILDARE COUNTY wasted no time in planning for the new season. Just three days after narrowly missing out on promotion from eircom Division One, The Thoroughbreds have named John Ryan as their new manager to replace Eric Hannigan.

Ryan, the former Bray striker left the assistant managers role just a fortnight ago, citing personal reasons for his departure.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge, because I think we are good enough for promotion,” he said.

Ryan’s assistant will be Barry O’Connor who will also continue in a playing capacity at Station Road.
