Munster include 10 uncapped players in women's interpro squad

The Munster senior women's squad has been named for this year's Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championship.

Head Coach Matt Brown has announced a 30-player squad - 10 of them uncapped - for the duration of the competition alongside an 18-player development squad.

Maeve Óg O'Leary returns to captain the side after leading the team to the title last season.

"It is unreal, I am so delighted and honoured of course," she said.

"I think last year we had such an unreal year, so I am delighted to be able to lead the girls again.

"But, to be honest, there are so many great leaders within the team and I think that that is the most important thing. There are so many people driving this squad forward, so it is an honour."

Elsewhere, Lily Byrne is one of many players who will step up into the senior squad for the first time this year. The inside centre hails from Dolphin RFC in Cork City and has captained both Munster and Ireland at age-grade level.

Ealing Trailfinders back-rower, Grace Moore, will also debut for the side this year. Her first club was Streatham-Croydon R.F.C. where she played up until 2018. She then joined Premier 15s side Richmond Women a year later.

Moore signed with Saracens ahead of the 2022–23 Premier 15s season before joining Ealing Trailfinders for the 2024–25 season.

The back-rower has played at international level at both 7s and 15s, making her 15s debut against Italy in the 2021 World Cup.

Along with Byrne and Moore, there are eight other players in line to receive their first Munster caps: Ava O'Malley, Caoimhe Murphy, Ella Buckley, Tuathla Ryan, Andrea Murphy, Emily Lane, Katie Corrigan and Lani O'Donovan.

Munster open their Interpro campaign at home to Leinster in Virgin Media Park on Saturday, August 8th before welcoming Ulster to the Cork venue a week later on Saturday August 15th. Matt Brown's side then travel to Galway to face Connacht in Round 3 on Saturday, August 22nd.
