Munster look set to welcome Parisian giants Racing 92 to Cork in round one of the Champions Cup this October after being matched with the Top 14 side for the opening round of pool fixtures on Friday.

Leinster will begin their next attempt to add a fifth champions’ star to their jerseys with a trip to Clermont Auvergne while Connacht will welcome three-time champions Saracens to Galway’s Dexcom Stadium with all three Irish provinces kicking off their campaign on Saturday, October 17.

You can view the full fixture list here.

Munster must get final sign-off from the GAA to stage one of their home pool games at Pairc ui Chaoimh, where they played Gloucester in round two last December in front of 36,208 supporters, and the venue for the round one clash is currently marked as TBC but the fixture list issued by competition organisers EPCR on Friday has given them a potential blockbuster of a home opener on Leeside, with an 8pm kick-off.

Clayton McMillan’s side must travel to Pat Lam’s Bristol Bears for Round 2 at Ashton Gate on Saturday, December 12 while they must re-enter the lion’s den of back-to-back champions Union Bordeaux Begles in Round 3 at Stade Chaban-Delmas on Sunday, January 10, with a six-day turnaround to their final pool game, against Jean Kleyn’s new club Gloucester at Thomond Park on Saturday, January 16.

Leo Cullen’s last campaign as Leinster head coach before he steps down after 12 years at the helm next summer will come at Stade Marcel Michelin at 3:15 on October 17, while last season’s runners-up welcome Sale Sharks to Dublin in Round 2 on December 12 at a venue still to be decided. Leinster are set to return to their developed Laya Arena at the RDS next season but Aviva Stadium remains an option, with Pau their other home fixture in Round 3 on Saturday, January 9 before closing out their pool campaign on familiar ground at Leicester Tigers’ Welford Road on January 16.

Stuart Lancaster’s rejuvenated Connacht must travel to English PREM runners-up Exeter Chiefs for a Round 2 fixture on Sunday, December 13 before welcoming French champions Toulouse to Dexcom in Round 3 on January 9. Their pool campaign finishes on French soil at La Rochelle’s Stade Marcel Deflandre when Connacht face Ronan O’Gara’s side on January 16.
