St Munchin's beat Bandon again to reach another Munster Schools Cup final

St Munchin’s College will face Christians in the Munster Schools Junior Cup final after they comprehensively beat Bandon Grammar School 44-8 at Thomond Park on Wednesday.

A powerful first half display proved to be decisive as the Limerick school kept their Munster Schools Cup double dream alive, with their senior side facing Presentation Brothers College in their decider in two weeks’ time after they also defeated Bandon in the last four.

Munchin’s wasted no time in stamping their authority on the game as two well struck Jack Goode penalties gave them control by the fifth minute. They would lead 23-3 by the half time break thanks to tries from Cian Angley, Caleb Crofton O’Riordan and Oscar Madden, while Jos Keating replied with a penalty for Bandon.

Oscar Kinahan would grab a try for Bandon late in the second period but by that stage the damage had been done as further tries by Madden (his second), Tristan Eales and Jack Goode, who converted all three, ensured Munchin’s march on to a showdown with CBC.
