The arrival at Aviva Stadium of an Italy side deemed by Andy Farrell the best Azzuri selection to have visited these shores ensures Saturday’s Guinness Six Nations meeting will not be the gimme this fixture once was for Ireland.
And that should be unsettling for home supporters still searching for answers to their team’s humbling by France in Paris on the opening night of the 2026 championship nine days ago.
