Pressure is reported to be increasing on both New Zealand Rugby and All Blacks head coach Scott Robertson following what is said to be a "scathing internal review".

The New Zealand Herald reports that several senior All Blacks players have been highly critical of the coaching, culture and environment under Robertson, who took over from Ian Foster as head coach following the 2023 World Cup.

All Blacks back row Ardie Savea is among those said to be "seriously unhappy" with the coaching set-up. The 2023 World Rugby player of the year is currently playing with Japanese side Kobelco Kobe Steelers, which he joined following the November internationals. Savea had committed to returning to play with Super Rugby side Moana Pasifika in 2027 but that is now in doubt.

Due to those frustrations with the All Blacks, it is said that the 32-year-old is exploring the possibility of remaining in Japan, or joining a European club, with Leinster reported to be a possible destination.

Savea joining Leinster - who currently have All Black Rieko Ioane on their books - does appear to be a long shot. He is contracted to NZ Rugby until 2027. It is also said that NZR expect Savea will return from Japan.

Much of the frustrations with Robertson emerged following the November internationals in which the All Blacks lost 33-19 to England.
