James Ryan has been suspended for three matches, including two in the Champions Cup, for his no-arms clearout on South Africa's Malcolm Marx in last Saturday's defeat by the Springboks.
Ryan initially received a yellow card from match referee Matthew Carley, which was then upgraded to red.
The Disciplinary Committee has upheld the red card and determined that a six weeks/matches ban was appropriate.
But as Ryan accepted the red and due to his clean disciplinary record as well as other mitigating factors, the ban was reduced to three games.
He will miss Leinster's URC tie with Dragons as well as the Champions Cup clashes with Harlequins and Leicester.
The player has additionally been given permission to apply to take part in World Rugby’s Coaching Intervention Programme to substitute the final match of their sanction.
