As it happened: Farrell's Ireland suffer defeat to All Blacks in Chicago

All Blacks win by 13.
Magic New Zealand move looks to have led to another try, but there's a forward pass in the build-up.
Clock is in the red but the All Blacks are still hunting for more.
Henderson's frustration allows an All Blacks penalty to go deeper into the Irish zone, but Barrett fluffs his lines and sends his kick into the dead-ball zone. It'll mean little.
Cam Roigard steps his way past the Ireland rearguard off the back of the scrum. Try New Zealand. Barrett pushes the conversion wide. That'll be that.
Ireland forced to play from deep and Aki's pass is not accurate. Leads to an Osborne knock-on. Ouch.
To the corner they go. Throw not straight from replacement hooker Samisoni Taukei’aho, however.
All Blacks starting to flex their considerable muscles. Ireland's discipline worsening at the same time. Their advantage is eventually called off for a penalty. That's four of the last five penalties given away by Farrell's men.
Ireland look to profit off a scrum in the All Black's 22, but there's a knock-on from a green shirt. Ireland lose the scrum battle. Penalty.
Try for the All Blacks. Playing with penalty advantage, Barrett's slick hands find a flying McKenzie, who dishes to Sititi. Try. Extras are good. Gap now eight.
Sam Prendergast is in for Jack Crowley, Craig Casey for Gibson-Park. Paddy McCarthy is in for his debut as well.
Big territory gain for the All Blacks. Beautiful Roigard pass gets Clarke away up the wing, Lowe covers his kick but ABs are on the march.
Crowley's re-start is on the money and puts the New Zealand back-field under real pressure. Roigard's box-kick is nearly blocked down. Crowley's kick in behind is almost gathered by the on-rushing Tommy O'Brien.
All Blacks scrum. Rónan Kelleher and Finlay Bealham are into the Irish front-row. Damian McKenzie is on the field too.
As NZ look to get over, Garry Ringrose lands a monster hit on Barrett. And it's legal, too.
Seems as though Tamaiti Williams has managed to burrow his way over, but Ireland are adamant it was held up.
TRY GIVEN. Barrett adds the conversion. All Blacks by one.
Sititi now in for Parker on a permanent basis.
After Osborne lost possession, the ball is pumped downfield and Crowley finds himself in bother with a number of All Blacks and particularly Fabian Holland. Penalised for holding on the ground.
Line-out stolen. Missed who got the vital touch but I don't think I'd be far wrong with a guess of Ryan Baird. He's made a habit of it all evening.
Ireland get the penalty off a scrum and Crowley shoves it downfield.
Play breaks down and the All Blacks are awarded a penalty from a scrum. Into Irish territory we go, via the boot of Barrett.
Bundee Aki has entered the fray. Caelan Doris has re-entered.
A leg of kick-tennis is won by Ireland. Barrett finds a poor touch. All Blacks haven't come out of the traps as they would have wanted. Ireland stopping any NZ momentum.
is being belted out in Chicago.

Much easier Crowley kick. No mistake. Ireland lead by 6. Next score is crucial, you would feel.
A James Lowe fetches a Gibson-Park box-kick out of the clouds, earning Ireland decent territory. They march forward as a result and NZ concede a penalty and then open their mouths and are marched further back by Brousset.
Crowley is lining up another attempt at goal. It's left and wide. Gap remains at three.
Tamaiti Williams is in for Ethan de Groot.
Decent opportunity for Caleb Clarke breaks down just as it looked like the move was on. Another Ireland scrum.
McCloskey trucks it up and the All Blacks are penalised. Beauden Barrett the culprit this time.
Scrum is solid and Crowley and Gibson-Park gets down the NZ edge. Ireland building pressure but the out-half's little kick in behind is swept up by Jordan. Kick battle is won by Ireland and they have clean ball off a line-out inside the All Black's 22.
But we have a Savea turnover. Ireland will need to curb his influence in this second-half.
Second-half underway. Fainga'anuku fumbles a routine catch from a Barrett pass inside a minute - Ireland scrum.
Teams are back out. Expect more from the All Blacks early on. James Ryan has returned after his HIA, Doris heads in the opposite direction.
Here's Joe Callaghan's half-time verdict from Soldier Field: What a peculiar half of rugby that had a cluster of really compelling moments. Both sides matched each other for scrappiness amid an error-strewn 40 minutes that actually took us 52 minutes. It’s been attritional too with the All Blacks losing two of their three Barretts and Ireland losing both locks - Tadhg Beirne to a harsh red and James Ryan to a HIA. That Ireland are 10-7 up shows no little grit.
Ireland lead by three, having spent 20 minutes of that half with 14 men.
After a period of All Black possession, they kick down on top of Tommy O'Brien, and after play goes on for 30 seconds or so with some lovely Irish hands, Brousset's TMO David Tempest calls it back for a high tackle on O'Brien. Penalty Ireland.
Crowley kicks to touch but the line-out goes astray.
Ireland awarded a free-kick off the scrum. Crowley's going to bomb this up into the air, but it's comfortable for Jordan who belts clear. Suspicious-looking mark called by Barrett after kick is returned in his direction. He gets away with it.
Doris smashes into the All Black defence. Big impact. Crowley delays his pass to McCloskey and it almost gets Ireland in behind. We'll go back for an Ireland scrum.
Pressure relieved. Lock Fabian Holland strays offside. Crowley to clear.
James Ryan is now going for a HIA. Ireland captain Caelan Doris is in. Baird will go in the second-row.
With the ball in All Black hands, James Lowe is forced deep, and a little kick-battle ensues. We'll now have an Ireland line-out just outside their 22 after a Roigard kick-to-touch.

Ireland now going through the phases. Some big carries from McCloskey and Henderson. Little grubber in behind doesn't come off but Ireland will have possession off the NZ goal-line drop-out.
Simon Parker is going for a HIA. Impressive youngster Wallace Sititi is in.
Lineout stolen, brilliant from Ryan Baird. Tommy O'Brien tidies it up and Gibson-Park clears.
Codie Taylor's throw is not straight. Ireland ball far, far away from their own try-line, where they were moments ago.
Possession changing hands an awful lot here, it's currently with New Zealand in their 22. Roigard clears and a combination of Jamie Osborne and Tommy O'Brien win the latest contest in the air.
Breakdown error from a green jersey hands Barrett a penalty and a chance to kick to the corner.
Period of really frantic play from both sides ends in an Ireland penalty, which Crowley finds a brilliant touch from, but Sheehan's throw is not straight.
Ireland back to 15. Iain Henderson is in. Winning that 20-minute 10-7 will please coach Farrell.
Fainga'anuku has an immediate impact. His offload to Will Jordan gets NZ in behind the Irish defence, and the ball eventually finds its way to Ardie Savea, who finishes in the corner. Barrett makes no mistake off the tee. Lead cut to three.
Jordie Barrett is gone. Leicester Fainga'anuku is on. Only one Barrett left on the field now - Beauden.
Tadhg Furlong runs a brilliant line and gets over. TRY IRELAND.
Crowley adds the extras.
Penalty Ireland. Corner it is. Crowley stitches it to 5m. Ireland's line-out is good and Gibson-Park is getting quick ball.
He's staying on for the moment. All Blacks win a penalty off their scrum and look to stretch the Ireland defence off a lineout, but Leroy Carter runs out of real estate.
Ireland march upfield off the lineout after brilliant play from James Lowe, Crowley and Dan Sheehan.
Jordie Barrett is down and looks in some pain. Doesn't look good for the centre who spent last season playing with so many of this Irish side in Leinster blue. They've already lost his brother, Scott, to injury.
Crowley's kick to touch is kept in play by the All Black back-field, but Ireland have possession again.

Wow. Beirne's yellow has been upgraded to red. That is game-changing. The Ireland leader's evening is done but Andy Farrell can replace him after 22 minutes.
Ireland deal with the restart well and Gibson-Park finds a decent touch, but All Black winger Clarke is looking dangerous.
Ireland do get the turnover and Crowley attempts a cross-field kick that is nearly on the money. New Zealand ball.
No mistake. Good from Crowley. Ireland in front.
Jack Crowley is going for the posts.
Big clearance from Jamison Gibson-Park off the Irish scrum. Possession is Fabian Holland's. The elusive Caleb Clarke finds a hole in the Irish defence but play is brought back by an off-the-ball hit on Stuart McCloskey. Penalty Ireland.
An All Blacks error from the lineout they got as a result of the yellow-card penalty hands Ireland possession deep in their own territory. Josh Lord is in for the injured Scott Barrett.
After some All Black pressure, referee Pierre Brousset is coming back to look at a Tadhg Beirne hit on out-half Barrett. Beirne was certainly upright. Issues with getting the video to referee Brousset, not a great start for the technology.
Ireland are indeed down to 14. Beirne heads for the bin for 10 minutes - at least.
After the Captain’s Run on Friday, Dan Sheehan said a reliable set-piece and a solid start would be key. A botched Irish lineout just 90 seconds in wasn't an auspicious start.
All Blacks win a penalty after Irish infringement at the breakdown, having lost the lineout. Dan Sheehan the culprit. Beauden Barrett kicks into the corner.
Game on. Jack Crowley kicks off, All Blacks secure, but Cam Roigard kicks clear impressively.
Anthems concluded. Lots of Irish noise. Now we'll have the Haka.
Both teams are back out on the pitch at Soldier Field. Kick-off getting ever-closer.
One last pre-match update from Joe Callaghan in Chicago: After the warmups, members of the stadium grounds crew came out to fill some holes with sand as a colleague used a green spray to make the fixes less visible. Not a great sign. Let’s see how it holds up.
Former Munster and Ireland centre Barry Murphy will be singing Ireland's call before kick-off. He'll do so in a very special jersey.
I’m incredibly proud to be wearing Axels jersey in Soldier Field singing Irelands call today. 22 years to the day when he wore it. Big day ahead. Come on Ireland 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💚 pic.twitter.com/sr8QxAfAvK

From this vantage point high up one side of Soldier Field, the playing surface doesn’t look as solid as it did down at field level yesterday. The home of the Chicago Bears is known to have one of the less reliable surfaces in the NFL but Ireland captain Dan Sheehan said Friday that he was confident it could hold up come scrum time.

Some savvy guerrilla marketing by Kerrygold outside Soldier Field, offering free sticks of cheese and a bobble hat for those who queue a little longer. The Irish hordes were happy to line up as the Saturday breeze brought the game-time temperatures down to about 6C.

So what are the key battles? At out-half, it's Jack Crowley v Beauden Barrett. Up front, Tadhg Furlong and his Ireland front-row took on an All Black scrum, inclusive of Ethan de Groot, while down Ireland's left, James Lowe will look to teach All Black rookie Leroy Carter a lesson.
Our rugby columnists have been busy analysing the Ireland v All Blacks Soldier Field 'rematch'. Read the pre-match verdicts of both Donal Lenihan and Ronan O'Gara.
Here's a little taste of what O'Gara had to say: "Irish rugby needs new dreams and inspiration. It needs a new version of itself. We’ve done the No. 1 ranked thing. We’ve failed dismally and consistently when it matters.
"Staleness is an unavoidable consequence of sameness. Victories this autumn are not as important to Andy Farrell as fostering real depth and developing sharp competition for places.
"To be making a new case in Chicago this weekend a player should be above the curve for province and if he was doing that, we’d have seen him already. Where are the players?

"I’m guilty to the charge of being a little out of touch with Irish rugby but I know for sure that Andy Farrell would thrill in someone beating down his door for every row in the team – from front row to back three. That’s a lot of up and comers."
Joe caught up with Brendan O'Brien for a pre-match chat. You can check out that preview here.

Joe Callaghan - our man in Chicago - brought us the team news on Thursday. Joe will chip in with updates from Soldier Field throughout the evening.
Andy Farrell has reinstated Jack Crowley into the Ireland No.10 jersey for the Chicago rematch with the All Blacks but opted to keep returning captain Caelan Doris in reserve.
Farrell unveiled his starting XV for the Soldier Field meeting with New Zealand on Thursday morning local time, naming hooker Dan Sheehan as captain in the place of Doris. He also found room for at least a couple of November surprises.
Ulster’s Stuart McCloskey was undoubtedly the most eye-catching, named to make his first Ireland start in 20 months as he partners Garry Ringrose in the centre while, outside them, Leinster’s Tommy O’Brien will win just his third Ireland cap on the wing. It will be a first staredown of the haka for both men.
