This pre-season, under his fifth different head coach, has been a breath of fresh air as far as the Waterford man is concerned and credit for that goes to new boss McMillan.

A dozen pre-season campaigns into his career, you may expect Jack O’Donoghue to be a touch world weary about the process.

After all, at the age of 31 the Munster back-rower has done more than his share of shuttle sprints, Bronco tests and battles with the weighing scales.
