“He’s a lot bigger than I thought he would be, when I came into camp. He’s an athlete with a massive left boot on him as well and he runs great lines," Owen Farrell said about Jamie Osborne.

Jamie Osborne earned the praise of both Owen Farrell and Garry Ringrose following his dream debut for the British & Irish Lions in their tour victory over the First Nations & Pasifika XV on Tuesday.

A try in each half, playing in a different position for each of them, formed the backbone of the Lions’ hard-fought 24-19 win at Marvel Stadium. Named at outside centre, the 24-year-old had chased down midfield partner Farrell’s kick over the top of the First Nations & Pasifika defence to open the scoring on seven minutes. Yet his role changed just nine minutes later when right wing and fellow debutant Darcy Graham was forced off through injury.
