Johnny Sexton has issued a strong rebuttal to those who believe Andy Farrell was wrong to call his son Owen up to join the British & Irish Lions on tour in Australia.

Former England fly-half and national captain Farrell junior was added to the Lions squad following a tour-ending injury to Elliot Daly and he joined the tourists in Sydney at the tail end of last week. The decision to select a player coming off an injury-hit season with Racing 92 was met with some controversy last week, with head coach Farrell senior accused of both nepotism and poor judgement.
