Certainly not for the first time, and nor for the last, Peter O’Mahony will put Munster above self as he strives to deliver the top-eight finish in the United Rugby Championship that means so much to his province’s future.

That O’Mahony will not be a part of that future matters little. He will, after all, be on his final lap before retirement, with Friday night’s derby against Ulster his likely last appearance at Thomond Park.
