Peter O’Mahony will retire to the stands as an Ireland supporter secure in his belief that the future of Irish rugby is in good hands.

The dream ending did not come in terms of celebrating a third Grand Slam in his storied 114-Test Ireland career, nor even a trophy lift as France reclaimed the Guinness Six Nations crown for the first time since 2022.
