Garry Ringrose has been given a three match suspension following his 20 minute red card he received in Ireland's Guinness Six Nations game against Wales last weekend.
Ringrose will miss Leinster's clash against Cardiff and Ireland's Six Nations games against France and Italy. He has been given permission to take part of the World Rugby Coaching Intervention Programme and if successfully completed will be available for the Italy game.
Ringrose was in front of the Disciplinary Committee this afternoon via video link for an act of foul play contrary to Law 9.13. The Disciplinary Committee made up of chairman Matthew Weaver KC (England) and former international players Leon Lloyd (England) and Stefan Terblanche (South Africa), upheld the red card issued to Ringrose and determined a mid-entry point of six weeks/matches was appropriate.Â

As Ringrose accepted he committed an act of foul play as well as other mitigating factors the committee applied the maximum 50% reduction in sanction reducing it to three weeks/matches.
The suspension will cover the following matches;
1 March 2025 â Leinster vs Cardiff, United Rugby ChampionshipÂ
8 March 2025 â Ireland vs France, Guinness Menâs Six NationsÂ
15 March 2025 â Italy vs Ireland, Guinness Menâs Six Nations*
*Available for Italy game if completes World Rugby Coaching Intervention Programme.
