Thomas Ahern and Shayne Bolton added to Ireland's Six Nations squad
ADDED TO SQUAD: Connacht's Shayne Bolton and Munster Thomas Ahern have been added to the Ireland Six Nations squad.
Ireland have added Munster's Thomas Ahern and Connacht's Shayne Bolton to the squad this week as they monitor Finlay Bealham and Mack Hansen following leg injuries they picked up against England in their opening Guinness Six Nations clash.
Hansen picked up a leg injury in the first half of the game and following off the field treatment returned to see out the game. Bealham picked up an ankle injury and was replaced after 58 minutes. Both players will be monitored during the week with the camp hopeful that both players will be available for the Scotland clash.
Tadhg Furlong (calf) and Joe McCarthy (concussion) have both stepped up their rehabilitation programmes and will be assessed later in the week before a decision will be made on their availability.Â
Ireland will name their side to face Scotland on Friday morning.
Elsewhere, Sean O'Brien and Mark Sexton have joined the coaching team this week and will be part of Mike Prendergast's management for the Ireland 'A' international against England in Britol on Sunday February 23 (1pm).
