Boyd bringing inside track on Northampton and much more to Munster

The sides meet in the Champions Cup this weekend.

When Ian Costello reached into his contacts book for Chris Boyd’s number, he had more than this Saturday’s Champions Cup pool decider with Northampton Saints on his mind.

Yet aside from the wealth of experience and insight the New Zealander has shared with Munster’s interim head coach and his assistants since his arrival last month as a short-term performance consultant, the inside track provided by the former director of rugby at Franklin’s Gardens this week has been very handy indeed.
