Academy lock Evan O’Connell captains Munster A against Leinster A in the Interprovincial Championship clash against Leinster A at Nenagh Ormond on Friday (1.30pm).

He is joined in the side by fellow Academy members Shay McCarthy, Gene O’Leary Kareem, Dylan Hicks, Jake O’Riordan, George Hadden, Danny Sheahan, Michael Foy, Seán Edogbo and Ruadhán Quinn all starting.

Senior players Bryan Fitzgerald and Conor Bartley both start with Academy pair Max Clein and Jack Oliver among the replacements.

Old Cresent’s Jed O’Dwyer starts at full-back with Young Munster duo McCarthy and Oisín Pepper on either wing.

Fitzgerald and O’Leary Kareem partner up in midfield with O’Riordan and Hicks in the half-backs.

Hadden, Sheahan and Bartley pack down in the front row with Foy and O’Connell in the engine room.

Edogbo, Garryowen’s Des Fitzgerald and Quinn complete the starting XV.

Clein, UCC RFC’s Darragh O’Connell – who came up through the ranks at Muskerry RFC – and Shannon’s Emmet Calvey provide the front row back-up.

Nenagh Ormond duo Fionn O’Meara and Evan Murphy complete the forward cover.

Garryowen duo Oliver and Tom Wood, Cork Constitution’s Eoghan Smyth and Young Munster’s Hubert Gilvarry are the backline replacements.

There is experience in the Leinster side with several senior caps featuring.
