Munster back-rower Jack O’Sullivan is set for a move to Japan, the province announced on Monday.

O’Sullivan, 25, departs his home province having played 35 times and scored six tries since a January 2020 senior debut against Ospreys at Thomond Park.

The Corkman has been troubled by knee injuries in recent campaigns and the former Ireland Under-20 international made just two appearances this season, most recently coming off the bench at Virgin Media Park against Zebre Parma on March 1.

O’Sullivan had joined the Munster academy in 2017 on the back of a productive schools rugby career with PBC Cork. He won a Munster Junior Cup and Bowen Shield before captaining Pres to a Senior Schools Cup triumph in 2017.

He joined cousins Niall and Rory Scannell on a senior contract in the summer of 2020.
