Munster’s URC title defence may be gathering serious momentum as the league campaign edges towards its conclusion but Graham Rowntree is expecting another testing challenge when his side meet the Lions in Johannesburg this afternoon.

Last Saturday’s historic first win at Loftus Versfeld, a 27-22 bonus-point victory over the Bulls in Pretoria was Munster’s fifth on the bounce in the URC. It sent them above the beaten side into third place with just four games remaining, the first of which is at altitude back on South Africa’s Highveld at Ellis Park against a side the head coach is not underrestimating, despite the common perception of the Lions as the weakest of the four former Super Rugby franchises.
