Northampton Saints boss Phil Dowson admits Graham Rowntree’s Munster taught his young side a valuable lesson on their last visit to Franklin’s Gardens but he also revealed a moment to forget in their shared past.

The two sides renew a 25-year-old rivalry this Sunday afternoon when Saints hosts the URC champions in a sold-out Champions Cup Round of 16 knockout tie in the English East Midlands, 15 months on from Munster’s gritty 17-6 pool victory there in December 2022.
