Ireland defence coach Simon Easterby has expressed his confidence that Caelan Doris will be fit for Saturday’s Six Nations clash with Wales in Dublin despite the fact that the Leinster man sat out training on Tuesday.

Easterby explained the back row’s absence from the pitch session as something that was planned from the beginning of the week, a means of managing a player who has been one of the team’s best this last few seasons, after the opening two rounds.
