Graham Rowntree will take his time in choosing Munster’s next captain after Peter O’Mahony’s decision to step down from the role last week after a decade spent wearing the province’s armband.

There are plenty of contenders to take over the duties but none that are cut and dried with some player’s ages, Ireland duties, inexperience or uncertainty when it comes to making the first XV all coming into the mix.
